Reviews for Eaton Hotel:
- “Good Hotel in Hong Kong” from AlexDino
“I just returned from a stay in Hong Kong at the Eaton Hotel from March 9-16, 2005. I based my choice of hotels, in part, on some of the prior reviews at this website. I booked my trip through Expedia and opted for the Eaton Club Deluxe room with breakfast included. After a 15 hour flight from San Francisco, my wife and I arrived at 7pm to the …”
- “Exceptional!!!!” from Matty
“This hotel should be rated higher than it is. In our opinion it deserves 4 star. The hotel has recently appointed one floor non smoking, it still smells a little, that and the room size would be the only critisism. We stayed here for the end December 2004 and Jan1 2005. It was just after Tsunami time. New Years Eve celebrations were either cancelled or …”
- “Great Hotel” from travel4love
“We stayed at the Eaton Hotel in Januray 2005. We were very impressed with the location of the Hotel – It being in the heart of the vibrant area – Tsim Sha Tsui. The Hotel was good value for money and well maintained. The Hotel reception were friendly and helpful and a morning paper was provided daily. The only drawbacks were that the room was quite …”
- “Excellent hotel” from nomadad
“In October I spent a week at the Eaton. By contacting the hotel directly I got a superb rate on a Deluxe Club level room, plus breakfast. The room was pristinely clean, as were all the public areas. The staff was superb, from the reception-desk clerks, to the concierge, to the housekeeping. Polite in the extreme, and helpful. The previous reviewer who …”
- “Good location, decent price” from like2travelWa
“We went to HK for 1&1/2 weeks in mid Nov. After reading all the reviews and on this site and reading “Top 10 Hong Kong”, DK Publishing, we knew exactly what to expect. Yes, the rooms are small compared to Western standards, but this is HK. The rooms are nicely decorated (separate shower/ bathtub AND our bed was just fine), the hotel …”
- “Ripoff alert” from kmanfrede
“the only saving grace for this hotel is that it has a great location, but there are many hotels with just as good or almost as good of a location. DO NOT stay there because of the internet in the room. it is completely outdated, and you can only get to about half the sites, and it shuts down all the time. hotmail doesnt even work. i used the business …”
- “Great place to experience Hong Kong” from A TripAdvisor Member
“We spent 9 days at the Eaton and loved it. Although the room is not large, it had everything we needed, including a hook-up for a laptop. We never felt cramped. The bathroom was beautifully done in marble tile, and was almost as large as the room. We had great views out our 18th floor room towards Hong Kong Island. The …”
- “Perfect for us!” from SnowFallingOnCedars
“We recently spent 7 nights at the Eaton (6th – 13th October). My father had a Deluxe Queen room on the 17th floor. Lovely! My son and I were upgraded to a Junior Suite (624). Fabulous! Both rooms had curved, floor-to-ceiling windows, offering interesting views, at any hour (… room 624 looked north on Nathan Road. Constant hustle and …”
- “Lumpy Mattresses and over priced food” from Tek
“I stayed at the Eaton for three nights the first week of July. The location is good for tourists. The lobby, stafff, and facilities are very nice. The prices of food in the restaurant are exhorbitant. The room itself was small. The carpeting was shabby. The mattresses were lumpy, out of shape, and need to be replaced…”

Hong Kong – Pearl of the Orient
“Day 1 – Saturday I’m the kind of guy who is never lucky with prizes, freebies, etc. I’ve never won anything in any of the numerous D&Ds I’ve attended … not even if they were trying to make sure 75% of the people attending would be sure to win some sort of a prize, door gifts excluded. Hence when I was told that I was to be upgraded to Business Class on an overbooked UA flight, one might say ‘lucky chap, you …’ Those who know about such stuff would ask instead, ‘What? you mean you paid full fare??’ Well, whoever asks such a question is probably right. It’s not that I’m lucky. It’s a rather long story … and as I’ve said in my intro, buy me a drink if you want to hear this stupid boring story about my run-in with UA that resulted ultimately in this upgrade.
Hence, I arrived at Hong Kong at about 11 am feeling rather fresh. Getting out of the Airport was also quite a breeze. Once out, I made sure I obtained an Octopus card (translink equilent in Singapore), which is really the way to go if you were to stay in Hong Kong for more than 2 days. Cheaper, and saves you the hassle of buying single trip tickets all the time, and it works on all modes of public transports – train, bus, ferry. Took a direct bus to Hotel Ibis which is next to Northpoint MTR station. Quite convenient. Dumped my stuff at the hotel room and met Philip at the hotel lobby at about 2pm. Philip had been very kind in offering to take me around for the day. We went to Causyway Bay, walked around the shopping area a little before having a late ‘yum cha’ lunch there with his girlfriend Judy and her friend Vivian. Can’t remember the name of the restaurant but it was good. Hong Kong is reknowned for the ‘tim sum’ that is served, termed ‘yum cha’, that lasts from late morning till late afternoon, and its generally very good.
After lunch, they took me to Stanley, which is at the southern part of Hong Kong Island. The bus ride there was very scenic, as we pass the residential areas of the rich and famous of Hong Kong, as well as rounded Repulse Bay. Stanley – kind of like a nice coastal town, lined with some historical buildings and eateries / pubs along the beach. As you can see in my pictures, works are currently being carried out to extend the water front walkway. When finshed, it should be a very nice place for alfresco dining / drinks indeed. Add a few palm trees and I will start reminiscing of my time sipping sangria in Marbella.
There’s also a nice market in Stanley where you can buy most of the things which you can find at temple street market and more, without the crowd. The ride back to town was also quite nice. We took a double decker bus via Tai Tam road which passed Tai Tam reservoir on the way back to central. Quite a scenic ride as well. Hence, I’ve kind of made a quick round round the whole of Hong Kong Island in a day. We settled for dinner at a Maxican restaurant called Caramba! along Elgin St in Soho, and finished up with a quick drink at Lam Kwai Fong which is a short walk away. Nice and relaxed way to start the trip, I must say, and I was very glad to have been able to be in good company of friends on the first day. Day 2 – Sunday Hong Kong was generally very cloudy during my whole trip there. It was also rather warm and humid. Average temperature was at the high 20s deg C in the day. It also rained frequently, like it did on this day. I started the day rather early at around 9-ish in the morning … well, that’s earlt by my standards. Took the MTR to Central station and walked around to see some sights like teh Hong Kong CityHall, Statue Square, Legislative Council Building and Charter Garden, etc. Read that this area was filled with foreign workers on weekends nowsdays. True enough, Charter garden resembled Lucky Plaza on a weekend. There was also a mass conducted outside the Legislative Council Building in honour of the ‘Foreign Workers Week’, hence the crowd gathered there was quite large. Had to run …”

Reviews for Le Meridien Cyberport Hong Kong:
- “Very Nice” from A TripAdvisor Member
“I ended up staying here after my reservation in Kowloon got hosed up. Really nice place, very cool. Good and bad is that it’s not central to any tourist-oriented spots, but at the end of a long business trip that is just what I needed. Very cool spot…”
- “Is this HK?” from sxa93
“Ok, if you, like me, arrive in Hong Kong with an idea that the place is bustling, smog filled, raucous…then maybe Le Meridien Cyberport is going to startle you a bit. Nestled away in a quiet corner called Cyberport, this ultra mod hotel seems more like a tranquil seaside resort rather than a hotel in HK. The pluses: Excellent views, courteous staff, very …”
- “Beautiful, but sterile.” from A TripAdvisor Member
“If you want something that is ultra-modern, quiet and has beautiful ocean views then this is perfect. If you want a hotel that is lively, with a fun atmosphere and central to everything then I recommend staying in Kowloon. I chose this hotel on the basis of its looks and decor and was not disappointed in that area. The only thing …”
- “Stylish and smart hotel that welcomes smaller guests” from FamilyofthreeSydney
“OK, so it may not have the colonial elegance of The Peninsula nor the old-world charm of The Mandarin Oriental, but the Le Meridien, Cyberport is a sleek and chic five star hotel with great service. It’s stylish and contemporary and the rooms are smart and comfortable. And I guess it’s a few dollars less…”
- “I love this hotel! Better then in the states.” from A TripAdvisor Member
“I stayed at the cyborport for work. I was there 10 days, and I loved it. the people that work there are excellent. The bed is so comfortable and the SHOWER! oh my god that was the best part! I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to go back to Hong Kong and stay here again… it is quiet and out of the way…”
- “Fantastic stay” from A TripAdvisor Member
“We stayed here last September and I beleive the hotel had just opened. The rooms were very nice, so was the bedding. They had lovely large size Hermes soap in the bathroom. I think we were the first guests to use our particular room. The restaurant was very lovely, very nice food. The concierge was most helpful, it was our first visit to HK…”
- “Sexy Cyberport!” from missellegant
“I stayed at the Cyberport in Nov 04 and, after reading the reviews here on Tripadvisor, it was exactly as I expected – chic, stylish and the place to be seen! The hotel is situated away from the central district of Hong Kong but the hotel provide transportation every half hr into town. The rooms are ultra modern – plasma screen tv, rain shower (…”
- “Exquisite!” from A TripAdvisor Member
“I travel extensively for business. Without hesitation, the Cyberport is one of the most inspiring hotel spaces I have experienced. With its spare, sleek furniture; sculptural lighting; Asian-inspired color combinations and extensive views of the bay (ask for a front-facing corner room), this hotel provides a superb stay. A few service wrinkles…”
- “The Hippest Hotel in HK!” from goldenmobi
“Le Meridien Cyberport is the latest hip hotel in HK! Every detail is very impressive. We got a room facing west that has an unobstructed sea view. Inside our room, there was a huge plasma TV, wireless keyboard/mouse, complimentary internet connection, computer with DVD player and slots for different types of memory cards, cordless phones, …”

HKUST
“For those who do not know… I am currently studying abroad at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Clearwater Bay, Kowloon. I am taking some Business classes, Asian Studies classes and Putonghua. So far this experience has been inexplicable… I encourage all of you to study abroad, and if Hong Kong is where you want to go, I highly recommend you to study at this university. I was amazed by how beautiful the campus looked. Situated near Sai Cong, surrounded by the water and the mountains, the environment poses more of a study distraction than a study center. Outside my dorm window I see islands and a mass of blue water. I feel like I’m on resort and this 4 month exchange period is an imitation of Real World- Hong Kong. If you know me then you know that when school is in session, I’m MIA, hitting my books, and stressing over exams. However, my main prerogative right now, is to travel, travel and TRAVEL. Although I am taking 17 credits and still trying to graduate early I am taking my course load quite lightly. I thought HKUST classes will be a joke, but on the contrary, it is fairly difficult. However, some HKUST professors give some leeway to exchange students because they know of our travel agendas. There are about 200 exchange students at this program from all over the world. I hang out with students from the states, UK, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Korea, Canada, and France… countries from all over Europe. We also have a buddy program in the College of Business. My two buddies, Gypsy and Joanna will be attending Lehigh next semester. They have been very helpful assisting my transition in this country. The first couple of weeks, I visited Stanley Market, Victoria’s Peak, and TST light show. I pretty much got used to the HK lifestyle pretty quickly. The MTR system here is fascinating; NYC should learn something from here. HK also has a thing called Octopus Card which is similar to our Metrocards but is much more convenient. We can swipe our Octopus Card at the local 7/11 or any other convenience store for quick purchases. Been doing the heavy duty partying at Lan Kwai Fong and Tribeca. Practically everyday is a weekend and theres always people going out. Shopping has been fun! I’ve been to Mong Kok’s Ladie’s Market, Temple Street shopping , eating local street food ”

Reviews for Conrad Hong Kong Hotel:
- “One of the 3 Stooges” from curry69curry
The Conrad Hotel is one of the three 5-star hotels situated above the upscale Pacific Place Shopping Mall. In my opinion, the Conrad is on par with the JW Marriott, while the Shangri-La Hotel is one step above (Shangri-La just went through recent rennovations). I’ve stayed at both the Executive Floors & the “other” lower floors, the difference
- “Fabulous Service” from kaneblack1
As a very frequent traveler and a regular guest at many of the worlds top hotels (more than 70 nights per year) this is my favorite hotel. I have stayed in all of the 5 star hotels in Hong Kong (except the Peninsula and the Grand Hyatt) and every single month I love coming home to the Conrad Hong Kong. The location is first class with the fabulous
- “Great hotel, but second place within that square mile…” from Tommy0609
Stayed at the Conrad Hong Kong for 1 month during April 2005. This is a classic hotel with classic decor, and the facilities/amenities reflect this style. Simply put, the non-electric parts of the room/hotel are very nice, while the electrical parts are not so nice. Beds are very comfortable, and so are the
- “Lives up to the Conrad Name” from kolowalu
I consider the Conrad Hong Kong one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at in 40 years of business and leisure travel. From the moment I arrived until I departed 5 days later I felt that the hotel staff did everyhting possible to make my stay memorable. The guest rooms are spacious and well appointed. The room even had a Bose Wave Radio
- “Loved the ‘pillow menu’” from CByrne
What a great experience ! Our harbour facing room was fantastic..awesome view. Service excellent..room service arrived complete with candles and flowers and everyone has a smile for you. There is even a ‘pillow menu’ which will allow you to select your preference ! Location is great if you are OK with a 10 minute stroll into town, and also handy
- “Good hotel” from A TripAdvisor Member
nice location (not as crowded as the rest of the city) with Pacific Place right below it; room up to standard but could use some updating, especially the bathroom which is showing some wear and tear. Room size is satisfactory; view from the room very impressive even if it’s not facing the harbor. Breakfast buffet okay, with good variety (Chinese
- “Exceptionally well-run world-class hotel” from PA88
I’ve stayed here 3 times and it is like returning home. The staff greets you by name and are unfailingly polite, helpful and efficient. The rooms are tastefully furnished, clean and quiet. The bathrooms are large with marble surfaces and separate shower using top-of-the-line chrome fixtures. The breakfast buffet is a gourmet

- “Wonderful Hotel” from Pat_B_8
My family and I stayed at the Conrad for a week this past July. What a beautiful hotel! First of all, the location is perfect. It is located on top of the Pacific Place, where there are lots of different restaurants and great shopping. You can access the subway from Pacific Place, so getting around is a snap. There are also a number of attractions such
